Clinic Etiquette 101
When we go to a Clinician, it is usually because we’ve heard good things about them and we’re interested in their opinions and insights on our riding. To show the Clinician and ourselves respect, we should look our best. Below are some suggestions on how to accomplish a “spit and polish” persona.
The rider’s clothes should be clean and form fitting. A clean silhouette allows the clinician to see the rider’s position and alignment.
The horse’s “attire” is just as important as the rider’s. The tack should be clean and properly adjusted. The saddle pad and leg wraps should be clean as well. Wraps or splint boots are worn to help the Clinician note the horse’s cadence and reach when stepping under.
Rides with a Clinician are a worthwhile step in forming a better relationship with your equine partner. As they say, “Anything worth doing, is worth doing right!”
