Another 15 neglected horse have been found in the Reedley area. Two had to be put down. Seven were taken to Silver Wings and six to SPCA. As you know, our June show is to help with the expenses of taking care of these and other abused and neglected horses. Silver Wings Horse Rescue, CCSPCA and other local rescues will benefit from of our show. We need to make this show a real success and this is your chance to participate.
Here is how you can help. We need as many sponsors as we can get. If you have a company that you do business with, you can contact them and see if they will become a show sponsor. Or you can get them to contribute something for our silent auction. Remember that we are a non-profit organization and all their contributions are tax deductible. If you can't make the contacts yourself, let Renee know who they are and one of our other members can make the contact. But if you have a relationship with the business, it's more effective for you to talk to them. You can also participate by volunteering to help at the show. Piet is organizing the volunteer list and she still needs quite a bit of help. There are a number of chapter members who are devoting a great deal of time to this effort but this is a chance for the rest of the chapter to get involved in meeting a tremendous need. As I write this, I'm looking at a picture in the Fresno Bee of one of the neglected horses that had to be put down. It's time to do something. Please set aside some of your time to help. The California Dressage Society (CDS) is a non-profit organization established to further the interest and education in the equine sport of dressage.
The Fresno Chapter, established in 1975, is located in the central San Joaquin Valley, currently with a membership of more than 120 strong.
